New Beginning, Slow Start

I started the year in quarantine; had a little run-in with Ms. Rona, while visiting a dear sister friend and unmasking to enjoy a yummy slice of her post Christmas, homemade sweet potato pie! The new variant put an entirely new spin on the promising new year. With more time to ponder and wander through all of my .22 caliber plans, surprisingly, I fully appreciated the ease with which the year began. The experience allowed me the opportunity to move slowly with a southern like sashay into the 1st of 12 new moons, rather than pulling the trigger with an overactive, itchy finger. It also afforded me additional sister-friend moments when I was no longer contagious. It was peacefully refreshing. God willing, I plan to do the same thing next year, minus the virus of course. Like waiting for a gorgeous new paint color to dry between coats on a previously neutral wall, some things should not be done with all deliberate speed. Paint colors darken as they dry, the depth and richness of color revealed slowly over time. Live pretty and remember, everyday is a new beginning. Keep your pace, and your peace. Happy New Year!
